UPDATE: 2018 CMG Player of the Year – Shawnee Stroke Play

Cleveland Metroparks Golf

The torrid pace of Steve Blackburn Jr. over the last four events has helped him build a 44 point lead in the Cleveland Metroparks Player of the Year standings.

Starting with winning the Manakiki Course Championship, a top-10 at the Greater Cleveland Am, and consecutive T1 finishes in the last two stroke play events, Blackburn now sits atop the standings with 177 points.

Ryan Stefanski is alone in second with 133 points. A T1 finish at Shawnee Hills propelled Jack Garswood five spots up to third place with 106.

The Senior Division remains unchanged, as no senior players recorded points at the Shawnee Hills Stroke Play.

The top ten players at season’s end in the Regular Division will be splitting a pot projected to be at least $1,400 in general Cleveland Metroparks gift cards. The top three seniors finishers will be splitting a pot of at least $300.

The final three points events coming up are:

– Bill Barbour Cup at Sleepy Hollow, Sunday, Sept. 9
(6-6-6 format with prizes awarded in general Park Gift Cards)

– Two Player Scramble at Big Met, Saturday, Sept. 22

– Tour Championship at Manakiki, Saturday, Oct. 13
(ppen to all players who have earned POY points in 2018)
