Eagle Creek GC, Norwalk pro Dave Morgan and Ashland University Golf Coach Logan Cooke earned a victory in the 2018 Pine Hills 2-Man Extreme Scramble on a chilly and damp Sunday, Oct 28 in Hinckley.
Conquering the extreme hole locations, Morgan and Cooke posted an 8-under par score of 64 that net them $1,200 while nabbing a skin in the process, making eagle-3 on the par-5 15th hole.
The winners nipped the amateur duo of Kent Monas and Josh Prok by a single shot. Unfortunately, Monas and Prok made bogey on the 18th hole which denied them a share of the top spot, settling for $800 as runners-up. But they had a great break early in the round that likely offset their final hole disappointment: Josh Prok made a HOLE IN ONE on Pine Hills’ signature par-3, the 205-yard downhill fourth hole (obviously, good for a skins winner).
Mike Stone and Brandon Holzer finished another shot back at 66, earning $550. They were the only team to win two skins on the day (birdies at 11 and 17), netting them an additional $237.
Two teams tied for fourth place at 5-under par 67, good for $200 ea: Brandon Obermiller and Jacob Appleby (plus a skin via a hole-out from the fairway for eagle on the par-4 sixth); and Dwayne Randall and Brian Perkins (Perkins added to the team take by winning the pin shot at the par-3 eighth).
Eight skins were won on the day good for $118.75 ea, as shown by the circles on the scoreboard below:
