It was a perfect evening for the start of the 2013 Chippewa Scratch League and its 2-man event season, and the scramble format on the back nine was the perfect format for that kickoff.
A pair of teams tied at the top at the 5-under par mark: Randy Skorman and Mark Thomas finished even with Chris Okeson and Rob Shustrich.
The red-hot team of Drew Thompson and Russ Rybka, fresh off their ADGA co-victory, finished alone in third.
But the big winners on the evening were the team of John Kabasky and Nate Petry, who nabbed the only skin of the session with an eagle at the par-5 11th hole good for $440 and the season-long money list lead.
Don’t forget that league fees are due NOW so that weekly gift certificate payouts can be determined for the season.
