The Northeast Ohio Golf Community Loses an Excellent Player and a Great Guy: Jon Brown

Northeast Ohio Golf

Westfield Country Club member and frequent Chippewa Monday Big Skins Game player Jon Brown of Creston died suddenly on Thursday, Jan. 26 in Winter Haven, FL. He was 47.

Jon was a great guy, fun to be around, happy-go-lucky and never an angry word. He was also a heck of a player. It’s tough to lose someone like that from our group and our lives.

Jon was born Aug. 23, 1964 in Medina, the son of Harry and Ann (Barrett) Brown, and he married Susan Seiberling in 1989. She survives.

He was a 1983 graduate of Cloverleaf High School and was a driver for Turn-To Transport in Cleveland. He had previously driven as an independent mover.

Surviving are his wife, Susan, a son, Joshua Brown of Creston; two brothers and three sisters, Barb (Tom) Lowery of Sunriver, Ore., Terry (Sandy) Brown of Georgetown, Texas, Dawn (Steve) Daniel of Kennesaw, Ga., Harry Brown of Winter Park, Fla. and Lila Brown of Portland, Ore. and nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Tee, 2000 S. Hawkins Ave., Akron, Ohio 44314 or Hospice and Palliative Care of Greater Wayne County, 2525 Back Orrville Road, Wooster, Ohio 44691.
