An Update from the Greater Cleveland Skins Game

Greater Cleveland Skins Game

John NiedzialekWe have passed the half way mark of the 2010 golf season and now we head toward the home stretch.

So I wanted to take this opportunity to give every player a few updates and quick reminders about some of the upcoming dates on the 2010 Greater Cleveland Skins Game calendar:

1) To be eligible for this year’s Greater Cleveland Shoot-Out on Labor Day, all players, even past champions, must play in at least 5 Thursday events to qualify.

2) To be eligible for the next “Double Down” event at Aurora Country Club on August 26th, players must play in 4 or more Thursday events.

3) Raffle Ticket Sales for the Shoot-out: Please turn in your sales money and stubs to Geoff Nicely soon and I also have about 30 more raffle tickets for people to volunteer to sell. Remember, this sale funds the Shoot-out Pot for us and also helps secure a donation from our sponsor, so please sell your tickets soon or ask me for some more tickets to sell. Thank you!

4) Hats off to all our Skins Game players that qualified and represented us well at this year’s Greater Cleveland Amateur Golf Championship played last weekend at Manakiki. Tom Evans, Dave Sotka, Steve Blackburn Jr. and Steve Blackburn Sr., Al Freeman, Mark Borlin, and Mark Foss all played — and I am sure acted like gentleman golfers in representing our organization. But a special congratulations to Dave Sotka who almost pulled out the victory with a great tournament shooting 71-71-74. Nice going Dave!
