2019 Northeast Ohio Golf Coaches Meeting is Oct 23

High School Golf Results: Northeast Ohio Golf

The 2019 Fall Meeting of the Northeast Ohio Golf Coaches Association (NEOGCA) is this Wednesday, October 23rd at Copley High School (3807 Ridgewood Rd., Copley, OH 44321) begining at 6:00 pm.

1.) Nominations and voting for All Northeast Ohio teams for Boys and Girls divisions will take place that evening.

2.) Coaches should come prepared to present 9 and 18 hole high schoolseasonaverages, Sectional, District, and State scores and any other high school season player honors for consideration during the All District voting.

3.) Only golf coaches who are members of the NEOGCA and who are present will be allowed to vote for the members of these teams. If a coach is unable to attend, he or she may have an assistant coach, or even the golf coach of the opposite gender present the players’ scores and averages on his or her behalf. In this case, the designated coach or school representative, whichever the case may be, will not be able to vote for the All District nominees.

4.) When attending this meeting, the member coach may name two players to the Honorable Mention All Northeast District team. If the head coach is unable to attend, the designated coach or school representative may name two players on the coach’s behalf.

5.) Members of the Ohio High School Golf Coaches Association (OHSGCA) who have players eligible for the Senior Academic All Ohio awards may bring a verification letter from their guidance department (no transcripts, please) and take the award certificate(s) home that evening. The player must have lettered during their senior year and have had a 3.25 GPA or higher (on a 4.0 scale) at the end of his/her junior year. Please have the guidance department provide ONLY the name and GPA of the eligible senior players on your school letterhead. No further information is needed or wanted.

6.) You may join both the NEOGCA and the OHSGCA that evening. NEOGCA dues are $10 annually. OHSGCA dues are $50 after September 1. Attendees of the OHSGCA May/June Spring clinic held in Columbus are already OHSGCA members.

7.) Please plan on attending to discuss any pertinent issues that need to be addressed to the NE District Board or to the State Executive Golf Coaches Association Board.

Coaches, please save the date of Oct. 23. Your players deserve the honors/recognition they receive when you attend this informative and important meeting.

I look forward to seeing you on Wednesday, October 23rd at Copley High School.
