It was a memorable night for two players at Erie Shores Golf Course in Madison during Week 5 of the Greater Cleveland Skins Game.
First, congratulations to Steve Blackburn Sr. for recording his fourth career ace at the 160-yard 2nd hole! Unfortunately, that ace came on the warm-up front nine and not in the Skins Game — but hats off to Blackburn Sr. nonetheless.
In the Skins Game itself, Brian Perkins of Hambden Twp. recorded all the fireworks on the back nine on the first warm, muggy night of the season.
Perkins, a five time Club Champion at Erie Shores, used his ‘home cooking’ skills. He made birdie on the long par three 12th hole to tie off a skin, then birdied the 13th hole. He then made eagle on the par four 17th hole to tie off another skin, and finally made birdie on the 18th hole for the only skin on the night worth $411!
Perkins shot 32 on the back side and 66 on the day.
Perkins’ big night sends him right up to the top of the Greater Cleveland Skins Game Leaderboard in quest of his first ever Thompson Cup.
Pin shot winners were Bill Speirs with the Mulligan’s Pin Shot on the 12th hole worth $68, and Dave Sotka on the 16th hole worth $51.
Next week, the Greater Cleveland Skins Game returns to Pleasant Hills Golf Course, where players will enjoy a great low green fee rate made available to our players.
