Greater Cleveland Skins Game Eddie Neer 2010 Greater Cleveland Skins Game ChampOpening day for 21st season of the Greater Cleveland Skins Game will be Thursday, April 21 at Fowlers Mill Golf Club! Defending champion Eddie Neer (left) will lead off the season by hitting the first tee ball at 4:30 p.m.

The Greater Cleveland Skins Game will visit 12 different east-side area golf courses this year. New for 2011: Erie Shores, Hawthorne Valley, Sugar Bush and Punderson State Park golf courses.

See the 2011 entire Greater Cleveland Skins Game schedule posted in the TOURNAMENT CALENDAR!

All amateur players are welcome to participate in the Greater Cleveland Skins Game’s Thursday evening ‘pins and skins’ events. Entry fees will still be $30 plus greens fees. One new rule change for 2011 will be the players 55 years or older may hit from the upper tee box.

Mulligan’s Pub and Grill in Highland Heights has once again agreed to provide $500 in sponsorship for a 2011 season-long points game that is tracked separately from the week-to-week skins and pins game.

Also announced is the Labor Day Monday return of the Greater Cleveland Shoot-Out, to once again be held at Chardon Lakes Golf Course. With reduced greens fee and cart rates offered by the course and sponsor funds added to the prize amounts, this event is truly one of the best one-day payouts for the money for amateur players in Northeast Ohio. Rob Schustrich is the defending Cleveland Shoot-Out champion.

John Niedzialek, Director of the Greater Cleveland Skins Game, thanks all 12 of the participating courses, as most have provided special rates for the players (see list below). We all look forward chasing Eddie Neer for the Thompson Cup in 2011!

An impressive 2011 schedule for some of Greater Cleveland’s best amateurs, for sure. I’m somewhat disappointed that Painesville Country Club is not on the slate. I’ve always enjoyed the delicious hot dogs they serve in the clubhouse.
