Eddie Neer closed the gap on Tom Evans and the top of the 2010 leaderboard Thursday night by taking home yet another skin, this time with a birdie on the winding signature 8th hole at Tanglewood Golf Club.
But Neer is still almost $300 shy of the man on top.
There were four skins won on the night, each paying $143.75, and some familiar faces finally made it onto the 2010 leaderboard. Steve Blackburn Sr. made a 30-foot birdie putt on the 220-yard par-3 fourth hole for his first skin of the year, and Allen Freeman joined the money winners by making birdie on the par-4 second hole. Dave Sotka birdied the difficult uphill 463-yard par-4 ninth hole to claim the final skin of the evening.
Mark Foss and John Niedzialek also found their way onto the 2010 leaderboard with pin shots at the 4th and 7th holes. Foss staked it to 4-feet for his pin shot — but missed the putt that kindly allowed Blackburn Sr. his skin on the fourth hole! The pin shots were worth $87.50
Next Thursday, May 27th, the skins game travels back to Powderhorn Golf Course in Madison beginning at 5 pm. The course is in excellent shape and skins players can enjoy the $13 green fee rate which includes the cart!
