Sawmill Creek GC, HuronIn what could become a huge annual event, the beautiful Tom Fazio-designed Sawmill Creek Golf Course in Huron has announced that it will host a big 4-player cash scramble on Sunday, October 4th, and is now accepting team entries. [Official entry blank with complete details here.]

One difference from many of the other fall scramble events is something Sawmill Creek is calling its “fast play format.”

To speed play, all starting times will be set with just a single 4-player team teeing off on the first hole only, with spotters used on each hole to record scores. Rounds are expected to take only about four hours, since there will be no 6-somes or 8-somes and no holes starting with multiple groups. All ties will split prizes, so teams going out early don’t have to wait for a playoff.

Based on just 36 teams, a first place prize of $3,000 will be provided, with eight places paid. Teams may consist of 1 pro and 3 amateurs or four amateurs.  Entry fee is $100 per player and includes golf and cart, with $70 of each entry going directly to prizes. An optional $25 per player skins game will also be available.

To enter, mail the entry blank, call the Sawmill Creek Pro Shop at 419-433-3789, or email golf@golfsawmillcreek.com. And please make sure you mention you saw this event information on the Northeast Ohio Golf website!
