The Cleveland Metroparks Fall Tour 2-Man Scramble scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 1st at Big Met Golf Course was canceled due to poor weather conditions. It has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 29th. New entries will be accepted; contact Mike Raby at Big Met.

The rain held off just long enough at Chardon Lakes Golf Course on Thursday for the Greater Cleveland Skins Game to squeeze in play for Week 24.

For the second week in a row, Monday’s playing of the Chippewa Scratch League was a washout before it started. Heavy rains hit the Doylestown golf course at 3 p.m. making conditions unplayable. So the previous carry-over skins pot (now going on three weeks old!) will be in play again next Monday — Mother Nature permitting, of course…

On June 30th, Matt Heestand of Parma made a hole-in-one in the Amateur Division at the Lake Erie Golf Tour event at Tam-O-Shanter Golf Club in Canton.

That ace was supposed to net Heestand a cool $5,000 prize through a season-long sponsorship deal with the National Hole In One Association, payable for any hole-in-one made by any player all season long, according to the LEGT website.

But almost three months after the hole-in-one that Canton event, Heestand has yet to receive his $5,000 payment. [Read more →]

The Private Club Team smashed the Public Course Team by a whopping 11 point margin, 19.5 to 8.5, setting a new record for the margin of victory over 17 years of competition. 2011 Shaw Cup Final Results here.

The private-club team held a 9-5 lead over the public-course team after two rounds of the Shaw Cup charity at Ohio Prestwick Country Club in Uniontown on Saturday. Details here.

It was a beautifully calm and sunny evening along the lakefront, as the Greater Cleveland Skins Game visited Erie Shores Golf Course in Madison on Thursday.
