Entry blanks for the 2010 Ohio Amateur Golf Championship at Kirtland Country Club are now available! See the OGA’s tournament schedule page for details and to download a PDF entry blank, or you can apply online (extra fee).

Qualifying tournaments in the Northeast Ohio area will be played on May 24th at both Elyria Country Club and Youngstown Country Club, and there are other qualifier dates and locations throughout the state as shown on the schedule. The entry fee for a member of an OGA club is $150, for a non-member player the entry fee is $175.

The Ohio Amateur will be played July 13-16. Get your entry form submitted soon to ensure a spot!

Although not yet officially announced by the OGA, the 2010 Ohio Amateur Championship will be played in the Cleveland area: the beautiful and challenging Kirtland Country Club in Willoughby on July 13th – 16th.

Skip Snow of Dayton played steady golf while the rest of the field backed up, and steady was what it took to win the 2009 Ohio Senior Amateur Championship at Congress Lake on Wednesday.

Snow began the day two behind the leaders and posted his second straight 2-over par 73. The 4-over par 146 total was good for for a one shot victory over Ray Sovik and Tom Elfers. Complete results follow:

Dan Smith of Fairfield and G.M. Bingman of Medina posted even par rounds of 71 to lead the 2009 Ohio Senior Amateur Golf Championship, being played at Congress Lake Country Club in Hartville.

If you are interested in qualifying for the 2009 Ohio Amateur Championship (or are already exempt), you must submit an entry blank to the OGA by this Friday, May 15 at 4 p.m. The local qualifier will be conducted at Fox Meadows CC on Tuesday, May 26, and the tournament proper is at Moraine CC in Dayton July 13-17. Players can enter online or print and mail an entry blank.

The local qualifier for the 2008 Ohio Amateur Championship was held Tuesday, May 27 at Elyria Country Club. Dan Rush of Avon grabbed medalist honors with a smooth 3-under par 69, winning by two shots over Ben Cavey of Wadsworth and Zach Glassman of Highland Heights.

A score of 76 was needed to advance to the tournament proper, to be held at Findlay Country Club July 15-18.

The deadline to apply for entry into the 2008 Ohio Amateur is this Friday, May 16 by 4:00 p.m.

The local qualifier will be held at Elyria Country Club on Tuesday, May 27th, with the tournament proper to be held at Findlay Country Club on July 14 – 18.

Players may apply online at OhioGolf.org using a credit card.

The Ohio Golf Association, the group that runs all of the state Amateur Championships, has released its 2008 schedule.

The local qualifier for the Ohio Am will be held at the Elyria Country Club on Tuesday, May 27th (a fun little golf course that’s always in great condition — and my old caddie yard!). Get through the qualifier and you will head to The Ohio Amateur Championship at Findlay Country Club on July 14 – 18, 2008.

Ohio Junior Championship:
