The Greater Cleveland Skins Game’s organizational meeting was held on February 16th at Mulligan’s Pub and Grill. Thanks to everyone for submitting their comments and/or attending. The minutes of that meeting and the decisions from it follow.

Yes, we made some rule changes. A consensus was reached on some controversial issues, and although we cannot please everyone we hope the changes are best for the game. We have have a diverse group of players, so we will see how these changes work out in 2011 and we thank you for remaining flexible.

Skins Game Director John Niedzialek presents Eddie Neer with the Thompson Cup for 2010

Eddie Neer of Lyndhurst captured his first-ever season-long championship at the Greater Cleveland Skins Game on Thursday, and with that honor took home the Thompson Cup.

Neer held on to win the Thompson Cup after none of the top challengers made a move on the final night of the season at Erie Shores Golf Course in Madison. For the year, Neer walked away with a season-record 10 skins and a $1,787.87 Leaderboard total. [Read more →]

Joe Zabukovec from Mayfield Heights waited all year to get his name on the 2010 Greater Cleveland Skins Game leaderboard.

He accomplished that task in fine fashion at Fowlers Mill Golf Course in Chesterland on Thursday,  grabbing half the skin pot and a pin shot. [Read more →]

The Greater Cleveland Skins Game traveled to Legend Lake Golf Club in Chardon for the first time ever on this last Thursday in September, 2010.

The eagles were flying Thursday night in the Greater Cleveland Skins Game at the Weiskopf Course at Quail Hollow!

Only three holes were played by the entire Skins Game field at Madison Country Club before the heavy rains came Thursday, so an abbreviated 3-hole pro-rated skins game was made official. [Read more →]

Birdies were scarce on the treacherous greens of Wicked Woods Golf Course in Newbury on Thursday night in the Greater Cleveland Skins Game.

Four holes had no birdies on them at all, including the easily-reachable par-5 13th hole.

Rob Schustrich attempts his birdie putt on the 18th hole at Monday's Cleveland Shoot-Out.

Rob Shustrich of Windham fired an even par score of 71 to capture the 2010 Greater Cleveland Shoot-Out at Chardon Lakes Golf Club on Labor Day Monday.

Shustrich birdied the first two holes of the day and never looked back, firing even par nines of 35-36. It was Shustrich’s first Cleveland Shoot-Out victory, and the win earned him the $750 first place prize. [Read more →]

Eddie Neer widened his lead on the 2010 Leaderboard on Thursday at Tanglewood National Golf Course, grabbing two of the three skins won on the night.

Neer made birdie on the short par-4 second hole, and then followed that up with a birdie on the 520-yard par-5 sixth hole that held up. [Read more →]

Twenty players had high hopes at the start of Thursday’s “Double Down” event at Aurora Country Club, where the event’s entry fee is doubled for the night to $60 per man.

Eddie Neer wasted no time making birdies, pin shots and skins on Thursday night at the Quail Hollow Devlin Course to extend his lead to over $500 in the race for the 2010 Thompson Cup.

Neer birdied the par-4 10th hole to capture the first skin of the night. He then stuck it close on the following hole, the short par-3 11th, to earn the pin shot there, making his haul for the evening $178.20. [Read more →]

Dave Sotka and friends got a warm-up on Thursday in preparation for the upcoming Cleveland Amateur at Manakiki, as the Greater Cleveland Skins Game went to challenging Chardon Lakes Golf Course. Steve Blackburn Jr., the reigning Greater Cleveland Skins Game Champion, made a bold move this week at Quail Hollow Country Club: he made the only skin of the night.
