Frischette Low Pro at Medalist Tour; “Akron Boys” Earn Another Scramble Win
by Allen Freeman | April 29, 2010 No Comments
On a day where an already fast and difficult Boulder Creek Golf Course in Streetsboro was further toughened by “scramble pins”, Eric Frishette of Groveport posted an even par stroke play score on his own ball to win the pro side of the first ever Medalist Tour event on Thursday. His score of 72 was good for a three shot victory and a $1,000 first place prize.
On the amateur/scramble side of the event, the “Akron Boys” David Trier, Jeff Mallette, Dan Marr and Mike Armour paired with pro Walt Robertson (who played his own ball in stroke play) to take home yet another scramble win in 2010. Many of these same players made up the team who tied for first place at the Eagle Creek 6-Man mid-April. The amateur team shot a 17-under par score that included three eagles, and won by a whopping three shots over four teams that tied at -14. Complete results here.
