Allen Freeman of Brecksville (left) and Chris Okeson of Cleveland (right) tied with the father and son team of Mark and Alec Borlin (at right in the photo above)  in the rain-shortened Manakiki Spring Tour 2-Player Scramble Saturday. Each team shot 4-under par 32 on the front nine, and then the skies opened. Freeman and Okeson ‘won’ by virtue of a scorecard playoff. Norton Brick and Brian Smith finished third at 3-under par.

The team of William McGreevy, John McGreevy, David Bliss and Joe Patton tee off at Sleepy Hollow.

Norton Brick and Brian Smith posted a record-setting score of 15-under par 57 in the Cleveland Metroparks 2-Man Scramble Fall Tour event at Big Met Golf Course on Saturday.

Scott Heran and Michael Mintz played steady golf on a challenging weather day to win the 2010 Cleveland Metroparks Spring Tour 2-Man Scramble / Better Ball tournament at Big Met Golf Course on Saturday. [Read more →]

The team of Dave Stover and Mark Raber posted a score of 7-under par 65 to win the Cleveland Metroparks 2010 Spring Tour 2-Man Scramble event at Manakiki Golf Course in Willoughby Hills on Saturday. The pair won by a single shot over the teams of Joe Mannix & Shane Ash and Michael Mintz & Scott Heran. Norton Brick & Brian Smith earned fourth place with a 67.

Entries for the Cleveland Metroparks Spring Tour 4-Player Scramble to be played at Sleepy Hollow Golf Course in Brecksville on Saturday, May 8th are due this coming Sunday, May 2 by 5 p.m. Entry blank here.

Entry fee is $250 for the team and includes the tournament, golf and cart. The event is played at scratch and prizes will be provided in merchandise certificates based on the number of entries.

Because of poor weather, two of the Cleveland Metropark’s “Fall Tour” golf events have been rescheduled:

- The Big Met 2-Player Scramble has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 31st. Players originally signed up are still considered registered (but can cancel), and new teams will be accepted, too. Entry blank here. Questions? Call Big Met at 440-331-1070.

- The Manakiki 3-Player Scramble has been rescheduled for Saturday, November 7th (break out the ski hats!). Same deal as above, entry blank here. Manakiki pro shop is at 440-942-2500.

The team of Scott Saari and K.C. Saari won by a solid four shots in the 27-hole Bill Barbour Cup jumble event played at Sleepy Hollow Golf Course in Brecksville Saturday.

Team Saari shot 5-under par in the scramble / better ball / alternate shot event to beat a field of 21 teams.
