Entries are now being accepted for the 2011 Stark County Amateur, a three-day 54-hole individual stroke play championship to be contested Friday July 8th through Sunday July 10th at three great area golf courses.

This final SCAGA event of the 2011 season is open to the first 72 players who register. Over $5,000 in merchandise prizes will be in play, including a first place prize of $600 in merchandise, with the top 12 players paid in each division based on a full field (plus pin shots).

There are two flights available: AA (handicap 0 to 4.9) and A (handicap 5.0+).

The price for the event is $140 all inclusive ($120 for juniors), which includes entry fees, golf and carts as follows: 18 holes at Sable Creek on Friday, July 8th; 18 holes with a cart at Seven Hills on Saturday, July 9th; and 18 holes with a cart at Chippewa Golf Club on Sunday, July 10th. Sable Creek will be charging an additional $5 cart fee if you want to ride on Friday.  Walking is allowed for this event but the cost will remain the same.

An optional skins game by class will be available at $20 per day, to be paid for all three days ($60) at Friday’s registration; so if you wish to enter the skins game, $200 covers everything. Registration starts at 7:00 A.M. on Friday, July 8th, and will end 30 minutes before the last tee time.

New Horizon Financial Group will provide a trophy to the winner of the Stark County Amateur, and merchandise certificates will be payable at Chippewa Golf Club, available and ready to use that Sunday.

Entry deadline is Tuesday, July 5th at 9 p.m. or when 72 players enter; no late entries accepted. Groupings and starting times will be posted to the SCAGA and NEOHgolf.com websites on Wednesday, July 6th.
