2010 Chippewa Scratch League: Week 7 Results

The team of Mike Kracker and Dr. Jeff Mallette continued their winning ways on Monday, posting a 3-under par 33 in the scramble format on the newly lengthened back nine at Chippewa to win by one shot over a host of teams.
The pair birdied 10 and 11 as expected, but sealed the deal with a solid birdie from 12 feet from the new 185-yard tee box on 17, and followed that with a great up-and-down par from 40 yards after starting from the 480-yard back tee on the 18th. [Read more →]

Lambos Captures ADGA 36-Hole Stroke Play

Nick Lambos of Canton didn’t back off his first round lead.
Lambos put together a solid round of even par 72 on Sunday at the challenging Seven Hills Country Club in Hartville to win the 2010 ADGA Lanning’s 36-Hole Stroke Play Tournament by one shot over Aaron Crewes of Uniontown. [Read more →]

Nick Lambos and defending champion Ross Beal lead the pack after tying with a score of 69 after round one of the 2010 ADGA Lannings Restaurant 36-hole stroke play event.

Furlong Nabs Top Spot After 2 Rounds at NEO Am

Kent State player John Furlong of Medina posted an even-par 71 at Aurora on Wednesday to jump into first place after two rounds of the 2010 Northeast Ohio Amateur Invitational presented by the Northern Ohio Golf Association.
Combined with his first round score of 1-under par 70 at Quail Hollow on Monday, Furlong sits two shots ahead of Mac McLaughlin (who posted the day’s best round at Aurora with a 2-under par 69) and three in front of first-round leader Rob Schustrich. [Read more →]

The team of Mike Simpson and Jimmy Kravanack posted a razor-sharp 4-under par 68 in the combined score (aggregate) format on the front nine at Chippewa on Monday.

SCAGA Cancels Legends Bramble

The Stark County Amateur Golf Association has decided to cancel its June 27th “bramble” tournament at the Legends of Massillon Golf Club due to low registrations.
SCAGA’s next event will be The Stark County Amateur, to be played at Prestwick, Seven Hills and The Sanctuary on July 23-25th. To enter, visit the SCAGA website.

The Greater Cleveland Skins game traveled to Quail Hollow Country Club in Concord on Thursday, and a sizeable field of twenty nine players participated on a beautiful night for golf.

2010 Medalist Tour Reggie Rucker Classic Results

Yes, Tony Adcock won the Professional Division of The Medalist Tour’s Reggie Rucker Classic at Little Mountain on Thursday with a sterling 4-under par 66.
Yes, veteran amateur Norton Brick won the Open Senior Division for the second week in a row in a playoff over professional Mitch Adcock after both men shot even par 70.
And yes, Matt Heestand won the Amateur’s Championship Division with an even par 70 to beat Drew Thompson by two shots.
All of these guys played great golf and truly deserve a tip of the cap.
But the focus of the day clearly was on the huge three-tournament-carry-over skins pot of $5,280, and who holed out from what fairway to win all that loot. And the required hole outs happened. [Read more →]
